I'm so glad you're here

For years I have struggled with my own journey of self-acceptance and fears of being perceived as something I am not. I've fought hard to become the person that I am and it can feel like a personal attack when we feel that someone can't see our value. Through somatic practices and visually documenting and exploring my own emotions and authenticity, I'm learning to appreciate my body and my mind for everything it offers me. My skin for the ability to feel the warmth of the sun, strong legs to carry me across this Earth, my breath for giving me life and regulating intense emotions. Regardless of what other people think I should be doing, or how I should show up, or how I should move through this life, I know what is best for me and I will continue to allow myself to fully experience the joy and pleasure this human experience is here to offer me. Their journey is not mine, nor is mine theirs.
When I was 20 I started my journey in the wedding industry with an established, older male photographer. I mentioned wanting to possibly put together a boudoir book for my long distance boyfriend and this photographer jumped at that opportunity, insisting we make it happen. During our session I felt so exposed, uncomfortable, sexualized and objectified that I never even saved any of the photos. It took me 5 years to process these internalized feelings and realize the driving forces behind them: societal conditioning, patriarchy, the male-gaze, obedience, people-pleasing. I knew this was where I was called to focus, that there was a massive hole in the photo world. I knew how powerfully healing and transformative photography could be, with the right guidance.
The term Boudoir never fully resonated with me. It's taken me 12 years of experimentation and exploration to build to this point I'm in now with my business.

I am not about making a pretty picture for the sake of making a pretty picture, or making you look like a "Victoria's Secret Model" (yuck). I don't overly airbrush and erase the existence of your cellulite or scars like most magazines still do. I'm about sharing truth. I'm about exploration into the depths of ourselves and deconstructing false narratives we've been fed our whole lives. I'm about allowing you a safe space to explore what feeling fully embodied looks like.

Just because I put these images below in a permanent place on the internet does NOT mean that it's not an edge for me to do so.
I still struggle with body dysmorphia, I am uncomfortable in front of the camera, but always practicing what I preach and pushing myself to the edges that allow me to grow.
There is so much emotion that I would not have felt if it weren't for these images, both in the moment and in revisiting them months or years down the line and reflecting on the experience.
